What the runs can teach

Every run is a small society with known physics and recorded history. That makes this a laboratory: what do people choose behind the veil, and what kind of worlds do those choices build?

What gets recorded

Seeds, world physics (color recipes, weather rhythm, threat profile), each body's dealt traits, each player's commitments, every logged event (movement, foraging, building, speech, aid, conflict), and the computed outcome scores. Runs are replayable from their seed.

Depersonalized run data may be used for research purposes. There are no accounts and no tracking; the unit of study is the run, not the person. Chat text is part of the social record — exports say so, and anything published is aggregate.

Questions on the bench

  • What do people commit to behind the veil — and does it shift after they've lived a weak body?
  • Which world physics (scarcity, honesty of colors, raid tempo) produce cooperative societies vs. predatory ones?
  • Does the bystander choice — defend or watch — track what players said they valued?
  • How far does collective points (harmonic mean) diverge from the plain mean — i.e., who gets left behind, and when?

Findings

Aggregate summaries will be posted here as the population of runs grows — roughly monthly once there's something worth saying. Nothing yet. The lab just opened.
